Important Information to Consider Before Purchasing:
We have decided to offer the K-II EMF Meter due to the relatively high demand. There are however several drawbacks to the meter which we feel it is important for you to consider before purchasing the meter. First and foremost the unit has only a pressure sensitive power switch which some skeptics have said makes the meter very easy to manipulate to receive "answers" from beyond. The K-II Deluxe eliminates this problem with the modification of the on/off switch which keeps the unit powered on with no fluctiations caused by a release of the pressure on the switch. Secondly in terms of EMF Meters this an analog EMF meter with a price that is significantly higher than other analog EMF meter models. We are making no claims to the validity of some seemingly amazing results from the use of this meter. The meter is an American made durable EMF it just simply is priced well above similar analog EMF Meters which in theory should be able to produce the same results since they are measuring the same electromagnetic field.
Before making the decision to add this meter the staff here did some research of our own into the claims of other worldly communication. We purchased a K-II Meter directly from the manufacturer. First the pressure switch is extremely sensitive, which does lead to the meter powering off and then powering back on and in turn performing the self test fairly frequently. When the unit performs the self test the lights flash much as they do when the unit is reportedly receiving an answer from a spirit. The easiest way to identify if the K-II is in fact just powering off and on is by watching the first green light which should stay illuminated at all times when the unit is continuously powered on. If the first green LED goes out and then comes back on the unit has powered down and then powered back on which leads to the self test and all LEDS illuminating. This problem can be remedied by either jamming a dime into the space between the switch and housing or by adding a mini toggle switch to the meter. We took the extra step and modified our meter by adding the toggle switch so that the unit is continuously powered on and the pressure switch is taken out of the equation. The mod was done on site and took about 20 minutes from start to finish. With our modification complete we began side by side testing with other models of EMF meters which we offer at Ghost-Mart. Through our testing we determined that the K-II EMF does in fact function well compared to other similar models of EMF meters. It is responsive when put head to head with similar models such as the Electrosensor, Ghost Meter, and CellSensor, all of which are other analog EMF meters all priced $30. We then began side by side testing with some of the higher end EMF Meters we offer, the Lutron EMF 822-A, Sper Scientific Digital EMF, AlphaLab TriField Natural, and the General Tools Tri-Axial Datalogging Digital EMF Meter. When used side by side with these high end digital models one thing became very clear. The readings produced by the K-II were simply not consistent. It was in fact very responsive to EMF fluctuations but there was no pattern to the level of the EMF measured by the K-II Meter. Put simply an electromagnetic reading of only 2.5 mG appeared much the same as a reading of >100mG as both levels pegged the K-II and caused all of the LED lights to illuminate.

After more than 25 years of intensive study, the health and safety conscious Swedish government has established a safety limit for exposure to ELF magnetic field at 2.5 mG, and VLF magnetic fields at only 0.25 mG. Although the U.S. government has been slower to act in establishing its own standards, the Swedish standard is generally accepted throughout the world.

With that said why would the K-II Meter marketed as the "Safe Range EMF" measure a small fluctuation of 2.5 mG the same as a 20+ mG fluctuation. The meter is labeled with 5 levels with 5 corresponding LED lights as follows:

* 1st LED (Green) = < 1.5 mG
* 2nd LED (Green) = 1.5 mG - 2.5 mG
* 3rd LED (Yellow) = 2.5 mG - 10 mG
* 4th LED (Red) = 10 mG - 20 mG
* 5th LED (Red) = > 20 mG

Simply a fluctuation of 20+ mG is generally accepted by paranormal researchers as too high to be paranormal activity yet when the supposed "communication" is happening the meter is almost always shown to have all LEDs illuminating. This is simply explained by the fact that the K-II is not very accurate when measuring the actual level of electromagnetic fluctuation. This really means nothing to discredit the claims of the K-II being the modern equivalent of the Ouija board. In conclusion the meter is very responsive to electromagnetic fluctuations but is not very accurate when measuring the actual levels of fluctuation. Therefore for the possibility of "communication" in theory the meter may work fine but for actual research and accurate measurement the K-II meter is not adequate.
From the K-II Enterprises website:
Measure the EMF (Electro magnetic Field) strength of every electrical device in your home, workplace or school; outdoor power lines, underground lines and even when you travel and shop for appliances. Health concerns about the negative effects of ELECTRO MAGNETIC FIELDS (EMF) from appliances, power lines, and home wiring have caused the U.S. Government to issue a warning to use "Prudent Avoidance" to help reduce your exposure to this risk.
Since EMF's are everywhere it may be impossible to totally avoid them. The SAFE RANGE EMF METER from K-II can help you measure these potentially harmful fields and determine the safe range to help reduce exposure. It also helps you determine which appliances produce high level emissions.
